Rehabilitation Nurse New

Pride Health is hiring an MS/Tele RN to support our client’s medical facility based in Des Moines, Iowa. This contract opportunity is a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Responsibilities:

A Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (Rehab RN) plays a vital role in helping patients recover from serious injuries, surgeries, or chronic illnesses. Their responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and providing direct nursing care to promote physical and emotional recovery. Rehab RNs administer medications, monitor progress, and assist with mobility, self-care training, and pain management. They collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team—such as physical, occupational, and speech therapists—to ensure comprehensive care. Education and emotional support for patients and families are key aspects, helping them adapt to new health challenges and achieve optimal independence. Rehab RNs also document patient outcomes, maintain safety standards, and advocate for patient needs throughout the rehabilitation process, ensuring compassionate, evidence-based care.

Qualifications:

Rehab RN position with one year of experience, candidates should hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state and have completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), with a BSN often preferred. A minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience—ideally in rehabilitation, acute care, or medical-surgical settings—is essential. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong skills in patient assessment, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration, with knowledge of rehabilitation principles, mobility support, and patient education. Effective communication, critical thinking, and organizational abilities are vital, along with familiarity in using electronic medical records (EMR). A Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) credential is advantageous but optional.
